Lantern runs in your menu bar and lets apps you approve use Apple Intelligence, Codex, or Claude on your Mac.

Apple Intelligence requires supported Apple silicon and macOS 26+; Codex and Claude require a signed-in CLI.

Install the app

Open the disk image, drag Lantern to Applications, and launch it. Lantern shows the available Apple system model and signed-in CLIs. Choose the models approved apps may use, then start Lantern.

If you are developing Lantern or prefer to run the service yourself, use the command-line setup instead of the menu bar app.
